The Home-Based Business Conference and related Lunch & Learn Series began as programs of the York County Economic Development Office, in partnership with the York County Chamber of Commerce.

York Chamber & County representatives learned that two-thirds of York County’s businesses are Home-based, a trend that is growing both locally and nationally. In an effort to assist this often overlooked, yet very important, sector of our local community, the Home-Based Business Assistance Program was developed, with the Conference and Lunch & Learn Series at the core.

Since the programs’ inception in 2014, several other nearby localities, including the cities of Newport News, Hampton and Williamsburg and James City County, have joined together to co-host the Conference and Lunch & Learn Series. This strategic partnership allows the Home-based events to reach and assist more local business owners.

About the WBENC National Conference & Business Fair

A signature event from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the WBENC National Conference & Business Fair is the largest event of its kind for women business owners, welcoming thousands of women entrepreneurs and corporate executives ready to make connections and do business. The 2020 National Conference & Business Fair will feature innovative educational programming, inspiring keynotes, a pitch competition, 1:1 MatchMaker meetings, plenty of networking opportunities, and the Business Fair, an unrivaled trade show of certified women-owned businesses and those who do business with them.

Expect to meet supplier diversity professionals, procurement and senior executive representatives from the Fortune 1000 and federal government; women business owners and their teams; and key representatives of strategic partner organizations.

The WBENC National Conference & Business Fair is open to WBENC-Certified WBE business owners and their teams; buyers, procurement representatives, supplier diversity professionals, and government officials from WBENC Corporate and Government Members; and representatives from WBENC’s 14 Regional Partner Organizations and other strategic partners.

We also invite non-certified small businesses, students, and representatives from non-member corporations and government entities to attend to learn about our organization and network of opportunity.





The easiest way to register for the 2020 WBENC National Conference & Business Fair is online. Registration will open on Monday, February 24, 2020.

Onsite Registration

You also have the option to register onsite during the event, starting on Monday, June 22, 2020. Onsite registrations are available throughout the week and must be paid by company check or credit card. All onsite transactions are final and non-refundable.

Regular price is $1,399 for main conference access. Workshops are an additional $500 and available only to main conference attendees.  Industry Forum price is $699 and can be purchased as a stand-alone item.  We are also offering an All-Access Pass, which includes the conference, a workshop, an Industry Forum and the Post Show Video Access for $2,399.  Last but not least we have a Post Show Video Access option, for those who can’t make the conference, for $599.

We offer discounted pricing for early registrations – if you are interested in attending, we recommend that you register as soon as possible!
