All Natural Lemonade Recipes

Meet the Rebelmom: Sharon Abbarno. Sharon is from Austin Texas and runs a home based crafting business. She designs jewelry, personalized gifts and other items. Her products are sold in small shops and cafes throughout the city.

What kid doesn’t dream of having a summer lemonade stand? You mix up some awful, powdered drink so the kids can set up shop near a golf course or something, and sell Dixie cups full of lemonade for .50 cents. This is the ultimate kid experience. They consider this to be right up there with getting a puppy.

But, as you probably suspect, this Rebelmom does not do powered drink mixes! I always keep a water jug on my desk filled with water, ice and my favorite add-ins and, surprisingly, the kids love them too. So, check out my favorite mixtures. Keep them in your office while you’re working from home, or help the kids have a “fresh and healthy!” lemonade sale in the neighborhood. Either way, you’ll never go back to those mixes again!

All-Natural Lemonade Recipe

  • 6 to 8 large organic lemons
  • 2 tablespoons of raw agave nectar or raw honey per lemon
  • Sprig fresh mint (optional)
  • Pitcher of water

Juice the lemons by hand, using a lemon juicer and pour into a glass jug. Add raw agave or honey to taste and dilute with as much water as you prefer. Add a sprig of mint. (Optional – but does make it oh-so-lovely!)

Instead of Mint add:

  • a sprinkle of ginger
  • 8-10 basil leaves
  • a few sprigs of rosemary
  • grated lemon peel
  • cherries

Pink Lemonade Recipe

  • 2 organic blood oranges
  • 2 organic lemons
  • 4 organic limes
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup of Agave Nectar
  • 2 cups ice
  • 2 cups cold water

Juice all of the citrus and strain out seeds. Press the pulp on the strainer to get as much juice through as possible. I got about 1 1/2 cups of juice out of mine. Add sweetener and stir until it’s dissolved. Pour over ice, add water and stir.

Strawberry Lemonade

  • 2 1/2 cups fresh organic strawberries (cut tops off)
  • 4 organic lemons, juiced
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup of Agave Nectar  (depends on your taste and the sweetness of your strawberries)
  • 2 cups cold water
  • Ice

Blend strawberries, lemon juice and sweetener together in a blender.   Blend strawberries, lemon juice and sweetener. Pour into a pitcher with 2 cups cold water and lots of ice. Stir it it a few times before serving.

Instead of strawberries you could use blueberries or raspberries !

Peach Lemonade Recipe

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups chopped organic peaches
  • 3/4 cup Agave Nectar
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 organic lemons)
  • 4 cups ice
  • 1 peach, pitted and cut into 8 wedges

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 3 minutes. Place peach mixture in a blender; let stand for 20 minutes. Remove center piece of blender lid (to allow steam to escape); secure blender lid on blender. Place a clean towel over opening in blender lid. Blend until smooth. Pour into a large bowl. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

Press peach mixture through a sieve over a bowl, reserving liquid; discard solids. Stir in lemon juice. Place 1/2 cup ice in each of 8 glasses. Pour about 2/3 cup lemonade into each glass; garnish each glass with 1 peach wedge.

Fruit Ice Cubes Recipe

Pour a little lemonade in an ice cube try. Add a whole raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, watermelon, lime or chopped mango, peaches, pineapple or strawberries or any other fruit you like to each ice cube. Freeze and then add to your drink! You can also freeze fresh mint or basil!

Another option is to blend the fruit of your choice with a little lemonade and then pour into an ice cube try.
